For this project zine, combined with the Adobe Ai and Ps together digital art, I would prefer to create a zine about my cat's daily life. First I was inspired by the creation of Pop Cat, which is an indoor cat yawning caught on video. It was modified into different styles and the most famous one on the internet is the one with the cat's mouth open like a circle. Shown below.
I always play tricks with my cat and she is usually being very silly and cute. So my main purpose of this project would be presenting my cat's silliness and cuteness TOGETHER. Because the pop cat looks cute when his/her mouth is shut.
I found this zine design from the internet. It looks cool and funny in the first place. The cats shown on the zine are a bit comical and dramatic: one shows the cat with beard like a lion, which can be categorized as a larger cat; some shows the cat with arrogant facial expression by making the eyes skewing at the sides; some of them are smiling as I have never seen my cat smiles, but I think it could be a nice way to dramatize the whole thing.
I will build my zine in this format but only includes 3 pieces of paper, which would be 12 pages. My plan is to make 2 pages for front and back covers, and inspired by the zine with cat head and but zine shown in the class, I might do the same thing. Then the second page would be a content page + a brief intro on what the zine is about, and some things about me. For the main parts, the zine will start with my cat wakes up, and in the beginning I would like to show her cuteness mainly and later switch to silliness so there will be a turn in the audience's feelings. The cuteness part would consists of she asking for snacks, wanting to play outside on the grass, and play her toys. Then change to the silly side where she is crazy playing her toys which would leads to a flat transition from the previous contents, hiding under the couch, and moving really fast.
There is an example of the silly pictures. I think I will try to put this in the zine after I do some editing in the photoshop (I don't think I will achieve the same effect in the illustrator but I will try)
